    Towns served on the South Shore

    On our map, the South Shore takes in the Longueuil agglomeration, the RCMs of Roussillon, Marguerite-D'Youville and La Vallée-du-Richelieu, and Kahnawà:ke. It follows the river from Châteauguay in the west to Contrecœur in the east, and it's part of the Montérégie region.

    Belœil, Chambly and Mont-Saint-Hilaire are part of it, as are Varennes and Sainte-Julie.

    We do the same work there as in Montreal: a Giant in 40 gallon or 60 gallon installed at your place, or a repair if the tank still holds up.

    Hot water tank installation in Longueuil

    We replace and repair hot water tanks in Longueuil, in all three of its boroughs: Le Vieux-Longueuil, Saint-Hubert and Greenfield Park. Two links land there straight from Montreal: the Jacques-Cartier Bridge and, farther downstream, the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Bridge-Tunnel. Longueuil has no separate number: it's the South Shore's.

    Crossing the river: three bridges and a tunnel

    To get to the South Shore, you have to cross the St. Lawrence. Four road links connect Montreal to the heart of the South Shore:

    • the Jacques-Cartier Bridge, between Centre-Sud and Longueuil, by way of Île Sainte-Hélène;
    • the Samuel De Champlain Bridge, between Montreal and Brossard, opened in 2019 to replace the old Champlain Bridge;
    • the Victoria Bridge, between Montreal's Sud-Ouest and Saint-Lambert, a road and rail bridge in one;
    • the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Bridge-Tunnel (Autoroute 25), between the east end of Montreal and Longueuil, the only road tunnel linking Montreal to its suburbs.

    Châteauguay and Roussillon

    For Châteauguay and the Roussillon area, the Honoré-Mercier Bridge leaves from LaSalle and passes through Kahnawà:ke.

    Always a plan B

    Every link has its rush hours and its roadwork closures. With four crossings into the heart of the South Shore, there's nearly always a way through. At the end of the Victoria Bridge, two lift bridges even straddle the Saint-Lambert lock, so cars keep moving almost without a break, even while a ship goes through the lock.

    Arrival time on the South Shore

    The same terms on the South Shore?

    The service stays the same on the other side of the bridge: replacement, repair and emergencies, 24/7, with the same Giant hot water tanks, and your price from a photo in under an hour.

    South Shore: frequently asked questions

    Do you cross the bridges at night?

    Yes. We cross at 3 a.m. the same as at noon, weekends and holidays included. On site in about 4 hours.

    Châteauguay, Belœil, Chambly: is that the South Shore for you?

    Yes, all three. Châteauguay is in the Roussillon RCM, and Belœil and Chambly are in La Vallée-du-Richelieu, both drawn on our map.

    Are Varennes and Sainte-Julie covered?

    Yes: both are in the Marguerite-D'Youville RCM, east of Boucherville.

    What if a bridge is closed?

    There are three more, plus the Honoré-Mercier Bridge for the west side. We head out by whichever crossing is clearest. If the arrival time changes, we tell you.

    Brossard, Saint-Lambert, Boucherville: which number do I call?

    The South Shore number, shown on this page and on the map. The five cities of the Longueuil agglomeration, namely Longueuil, Brossard, Saint-Lambert, Boucherville and Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, are all inside the South Shore on our map.

    Is the Samuel De Champlain Bridge the Champlain Bridge?

    It's its replacement, opened in 2019 between Montreal and Brossard. The REM runs across it too.
